Ok, 98 fml …99… I currently have 98 subs on the Hexspa YouTube channel. Kind of exciting. My first video was uploaded around late 2009. I started with a namesake channel but I deleted all the stuff off of it so now it’s just Hexspa. I remember when I made my first penny through adsense. It was a cool moment. I’m not raking in millions just yet but maybe
Great title: “Soft Dick”. Skrillex said to do what puts a smile on your face. When I thought of this name I lol’d. It’s got an angle to it, besides the novelty, which you songwriting people might enjoy. Patreon is launched! Please go over there and consider patron-ing me a dollar or whatever so I can drink coffee. Also, check out the eight bar embryo tracks for more great
Another Color/Animal friggin title. I read an article about music producers. It was actually probably about Rick Rubin. It said that he’d get “has-beens” with “writer’s block” (which I put in quotes because people like Neil Strauss say it doesn’t exist – and I agree) to just write two words. Two words. I say again, TWO WORDS, that inspire them – and have that in by next week.
Got Reggae? Had a conversation about when I took a shower on the beach by Santa Monica pier wearing only bubbles. Someone else had a similar experience wearing only sun. Hence the lyrics. Not to whine, it’s hard to make a track every week. I’m not just making tracks but also transcribing a song and writing one. That’s three projects. What I’m thinking to do is, instead of making
Last song. This the last song before I move out of my apartment. This one takes some Legend of Zelda influences and mixes them with “Teenager” from Deftones. I probably won’t have anything up for quite some time. Look for me in about three months – unless I really get on it. Sub on yt to stay updated. Thanks, -m
I tried. Fuckin iMovie. Doesn’t matter tho since I did the Warren Buffett 25/5 thing and realized that making music videos ain’t for me. This is probably the first or second most derivative track I’ve done – not gonna lie. But, you got to learn somehow. Made it in one week. Almost broke Ableton. Need to resample. Let me know what you think, hit me up over on Patreon
Prepare for liftoff. Here’s a song I did. I’m currently producing a track, writing a song and transcribing a cover each week. They say it’s all about completing a large body of work. Thanks to the winter and delicious beer I’ve got the large body down currently. Time to do work. Check it out, let me know if you like it and please consider supporting Hexspa on Patreon. Thanks!
Hey guys. I just want to make a quick post reflecting the content of this video about the K-system. Essentially, the K-system has been blown way out of proportion in terms of it’s complexity. It is nothing more than simply using pink noise to set your room’s volume level. Pink noise approximates music but without dynamics. You’ll need an SPL meter, any pink noise file, a RMS or
Fellow songwriters – it’s time to unpack your baggage! Welcome to the third installment of Escaping From Second Verse Hell. Check parts one and two to get up to speed. This week we’re going to deal with the problem that happens when you don’t give enough detail. If you’re more of the Cliff’s Notes-type writer then this week’s info is for you. This tip is not in Pat Pattison’s
